Trademark Registration
A trademark is a valuable form of intellectual property. Trademarks are unique indicators which identify products, services or companies of their particular source from others offered by other businesses.
Trademarks provide protection to the owner of the symbol by ensuring the exclusive right to use it when identifying goods or services.
When you register your trademark in the UAE, it will be registered in all the seven states – Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
Registration includes the following steps :
- Check whether the trademark being registered is entitled to protection in the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry will give its decision on the application within 30 days from the date of submission of application.
- Once the trademark is registered, the trademark owner will be given a certificate with the full details of the trademark registered including the description of the products, goods or services that come under the trademark and number and date of the international priority right.
- Registration process will take an approximate of 10-12 months and valid for 10 years.
